International Mobility

The degree programme encourages experiences of study and internship abroad.
Programme Erasmus+ Delegate: Prof. Francesco Quatrini

Erasmus+ Programme

Erasmus+ study mobility allows you to spend a period of study at another university in one of the countries that have signed a bilateral agreement within the Erasmus+ programme with the University of Florence. You receive a dedicated EU grant, can attend courses and use the facilities available at the host university without additional tuition fees, with the guarantee that the period of study abroad will be recognised through credit transfer carried out under the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). Under the Erasmus+ programme, students may benefit, for each study cycle in which they are enrolled, from one or more periods of mobility, alternating or not between study and traineeship, totalling 12 months (24 in the case of single-cycle Master’s degree programmes). This is a significant opportunity to access diverse learning experiences and to feel part of a European community committed to building an inclusive and multicultural society.

Arrangements for Progeas students engaged in study periods abroad

In order to overcome the obstacles to the development of the programme’s internationalisation (difficulty in finding exactly corresponding courses at the host institution, concentration of compulsory-attendance workshops in the third year), the Programme Council has resolved:

  1. to exempt students engaged in an Erasmus project during their third year from the compulsory attendance requirement for the workshops in their study plan, and to allow them to replace such attendance with a substitute activity agreed in advance with the workshop instructor (provided the student earns at least 1 ECTS credit during the period of study abroad);
  2. to recognise, subject to agreement with the responsible instructor, the passing of third-year workshops in the study plan through the credits earned by students during the period of study abroad, if gained in activities related to those workshops.

Extra-EU International Mobility

This scheme, also known as International Credit Mobility (ICM), offers students the opportunity to undertake international mobility beyond European borders, through the participation of so-called Partner Countries (third countries not associated with the Programme), thereby strengthening the attractiveness of European universities and at the same time expanding the range of possible destinations.
